Update on Reclaiming Urban Spaces

This project is in the very early planning phases. The end goal is to cover a world-wide approach to reclaiming public spaces through various methodologies.

One avenue we are exploring is Gorilla Gardening. People join together to plant flowers, vegetables or just nice plots of grass in abandoned lots, paved areas of cities, or gray areas such as median strips on roads.

Update on Microlending Project

Currently we’re moving right along wrapping up the 2009 project on micro lending. The final deliverables for this project are:

- An instructive how-to style article for
- People interested in adding a micro lending component to their non-profit
- People seeking micro loans
- Organizations looking to evaluate the effectiveness of micro lending
- Regulatory bodies interested in exploring the pros and cons of micro lending

- Video documentary of each of 3 main groups:
- Teaser or introductory segments showcasing 3 of the most helpful and responsive microlending groups interviewed during this campaign

The information will be available for free here on the Trigger Change website. Alternate avenues are being explored for places to publish including Amazon’s Kindle and relevant magazines.

The video documentary teasers are due out the end of the calendar year. Movies will be available here and on You Tube. Copies will be sent to the various groups so they can use them for PR purposes in their local areas.
